My name is Teresa Shymansky, and I am the Director and lead designer at Something Beautiful Design Studio.
Residing in Solon, IA, with my husband Jim for 56 years, I am also a proud mother to four married children and a grandmother to 15 wonderful grandchildren. With great joy, I celebrate my 10th Anniversary as an ordained Chaplain on March 3rd, 2025.
At Something Beautiful Design Studio, we believe in the power of creativity as a gift from God’s earth. Our artistic workshops and summer camps provide children and adults with an opportunity for creative exploration, all infused with a faith-based approach. We offer private family or group classes, themed birthday parties, and special gatherings that foster imagination and connection.
Our work is deeply rooted in floral design, gardening, and horticulture, complemented by painting and mixed media. We are dedicated to bringing hope and dignity to individuals who have been trafficked or abused.
To further this mission, we offer scholarship opportunities for immersive creative experiences, and a portion of the proceeds from our classes supports locally, Chains Interrupted and internationally, Operation Underground Railroad
At the heart of Something Beautiful is the belief that through admiration and wonder, we can unlock limitless possibilities and restore joy to those in need.

We are a faith based non-profit organization located in Solon, Iowa on 43 acres with a pond surrounded by beautiful flower gardens, flowering trees, evergreens, and a forest filled with wildlife.
“Something Beautiful” is a place of peace, tranquility and open air.
